CHAPTER 2:
Have you ever wonder how life is going to be when you are about to die? I kind of having that thought right now. Why do I feel like a monkey all of a sudden? “Where the hell is he? He asks me to wait and yet he is the one who is late!” I kept on looking on my watch. A voice called out, “Hope! What are you doing here?” I turned around and it was Michael.
“He looks cheerful” I say to myself. He accompanied me while waiting for William and we somewhat walked around the mall. He asked me a question, “why did you hug me yesterday?” and I quickly froze. Somehow, I can’t find an answer. I tried to open my mouth and speak but all I can do is smile. That’s odd… it feels like something is on my shoulder. William was behind me the whole time and I hadn’t notice!
“Sorry I was late. Car had some problem so I had to take the stupid bus just to see you” he apologizes “what do you mean you had to meet me! You wanted me to meet up with you, goddammit!” I shriek. He quickly ignored me and looked at Michael, “and what are you doing here?” he snapped. Michaels’ face became silent and replied him with a smile. William grasp my wrist and say, “let’s go. The materials won’t come to us you know” while dragging me. I turned around and Michael was already gone.
“We spent 4 long hours just to buy A SHIRT and A NEW BAG!” I asked him furiously. He sarcastically answered me, “girls are not the only people who need to look good, you know?” and drinks his lemon juice. How annoying is that! SIGH!! He continued and say, “at least you’re helping me picking out the things that fits me the best. Not everyone knows me. You know that too” with his face looking at somewhere else.
That’s right. Now I re-call. I never actually had seen him with OTHER friends of his. He spends most of his time with us. When he needs attention, he’ll just keep on miscalling my phone and grin. If he is hungry, he’ll quickly take Michaels food (since Michael always has extra food in his bag). I suddenly have this question in my mind, “are WE the only friend he has?”
